BBBEE stands for Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment. It is a government policy in South Africa aimed at increasing economic participation and opportunities for previously disadvantaged Black South Africans.
An explanation of BBBEE Levels:
The BBBEE policy uses a scorecard system to rate businesses on their efforts to promote inclusivity and empowerment. The scorecard measures various aspects of a company’s operations, including ownership, management control, skills development, enterprise and supplier development, and socio-economic development. Based on their performance in these areas, companies are assigned a BBBEE level ranging from Level 1 (the highest) to Level 8 (the lowest).
