Petrick and Clan created a pixel voxel video for the new Yota campaign. Their new family plan allows to connect up to 6 people, leaving each one of them the possibility to tailor the plan for their specific needs. Petrick handled full character and environment design and pixel animation. The key technical challenge was preparing the 3D models for voxelization: they meticulously crafted the assets to ensure they would gain a distinctive, sculptural depth in their final voxel form while preserving each character's unique visual identity.

Petrick wanted the audience to relate to the characters, so they filled the environment with post-soviet interior details. They contribute to the flat looking lively instead of perfect and somewhat cold.

From Pixel To Voxel
Preparing the design for the 3D turned out to be a tricky task: Petrick had to make sure that the character will get the depth of a sculpture when they transform it to voxels, but inherits it’s own traits.

Petrick also had to ensure that the design is scalable. To make it happen, they captured the characters’ main traits so that they were recognisible, yet didn’t look like a standard zoom-in.
